Do Not Just Balance Your Light. Balance Your Settings Too

The first couple of things that I learned about photography were the main settings; ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed. For a couple of months, I was comfortable using just those settings and nothing else. I was even afraid of using speedlights.

A couple of opportunities, I saw some people using speedlights whom I asked how to use them. Every time I asked, they tried to explain to me but I couldn’t understand anything. The only thing that I was able to remember where the fractions that determine the power of the speedlights.

After a couple of tries, I did learn about speedlights. To be honest, this is now one thing that I’m truly grateful I’ve learned. I’m still amazed by the incredible photos that I capture with the help of speedlights. IT IS AMAZING!

Here are some shots that I took during my excursion to Victor, Idaho. I just used one speedlight for all my shots.

I think that once you master using a speedlight you can capture great shots! Don’t be scared of speedlights, they are really helpful and an amazing friend for photographers.
