Professional Soccer Photoshoot With Adidas Gear

One of my biggest passion is soccer. I’ve been playing it since I was 5 and I’m up for a game any time! Even though I’m not the biggest player out there, I like to be around the field in any sort of way. Training, coaching, and, now that I have new skills, I could also bee taking photos.

My photo skills have been growing up in different sort of fields but I wanted to try something new. Something related to soccer and action photography. My final project for my photography class gave me a big opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and give it a try! I decided to do two types of photo sessions; one related to soccer and one related to skateboarding.

As I said before, I chose soccer because it’s something that I love and I would really enjoy being part of. I’ve known for quite a while that if you do the things you love, you can easily go above and beyond.

For this project, I wanted to capture professional photos of my friend while training. I also wanted to do a photoshoot on an actual game but I had no luck finding one in town. The few games that are held on the Brigham Young University- Idaho campus are not official, so there are no uniforms. As you can imagine, everyone wears different gear and the colors are everywhere.

Here are some of the shots from my photo shoot:

To be honest, this was a fun photo shoot. I used two Apollo orbs with two triple brackets (one on each Apollo.) I used six speedlights and one trigger with my Canon 60D and a 50mm lens. I’ve been working a lot setting up lights that now I feel confident to say it was easy to prepare for this photoshoot.

I’ve been following some soccer photos from Adidas and I found out that Viktor Zheng too some of the photos that I’ve found on Adidas’ Instagram. Now I’m really considering soccer photography as an opportunity for my career as a photographer!
